Using a Roll Compactor for Antibiotic Powders

Antibiotic powders are notoriously difficult to handle, with a high tendency toward product segregation, poor flowability, and sensitivity to both moisture and temperature. These challenges can compromise blend uniformity, downstream throughput, and overall product quality.

The Fitzpatrick CCS 1025 Roll Compactor was trialed and proved to be successful in achieving a more consistent particle size distribution than the previous equipment. The in-wall installation improved the cGMP and facilitated a much easier cleaning regime.
